Since 1985, Allison Knapp Wollam has been managing complex and controversial projects from pre-entitlement to certificate of occupancy for private and public sector clients working within budgets. She is an expert in identifying common ground and building consensus among diverse groups with divergent interests resulting in buildable and award-winning projects. She has proven expertise in forming public and private partnerships, hands-on in-the-field project monitoring, problem-solving, and implementation of solutions. She works under pressure as an extension to short-staffed departments evaluating and processing all types of planning applications, conducting environmental review, and expeditiously drafting professional, thorough, and legally defensible staff reports and environmental documents.
With over 35 years of experience, Allison and her team will get it done.
With strong purpose and determination, I set out to learn multiple aspects of the land planning field. At three different internships, I participated in drafting a performance-based zoning ordinance; interpreted aerial photographs to identify bioregions; and developed a land-use survey that included developing the questionnaire, conducting a pretest and revision, distribution, data analysis, and findings summary.
Subsequently, I worked for an environmental consulting firm participating in the preparation of environmental impact reports including the management, distribution, and presentation of the documents. I began weaving my newly developing fundamentals of environmental and procedural law with the land use law I studied in college.
Prior to beginning my private practice in 1996, I served as a planner and housing specialist for two different cities in California. I learned redevelopment law and continued my education in land use law and practice. Projects I have a hand in designing include measures that reduce or eliminate environmental impacts and incorporate city policies and goals.
Project management for all phases of current and advanced planning projects including design review, variances, conditional use permits, planned development, subdivisions, mixed-use developments, zoning ordinance and general plan amendments, and specific and area plan amendments and preparation.
